Taking A Step

Taking A Step Blog – Beginning

I remember the awe and mystery of the natural healing arts when I first started to explore them. There seemed to be so much information that I was often overwhelmed and confused. Sometimes skepticism accompanied the thrill I felt as I acquired this new knowledge. I took in information, learned how to work with it, and tried for a while to apply it; only once I experienced results did I believe in it.

Personality theory, coaching techniques, yoga, and reflexology—healing modalities for mind, body, and health—are tools and teachings I valued the most and have continued to work with for more than three decades. Using these tools and teachings, I have witnessed amazing results. I have seen people experience improved health, reduced pain, increased well-being, and renewed empowerment.

These self-help blogs relate coaching techniques, yoga, and reflexology to the personality elements of AIR, FIRE, WATER, and EARTH, providing ways to use self-knowledge and healing methods to bring balance to your life. These tools and techniques can help your mind, body, and soul to navigate your journey toward a well-tempered life—a life that is shaped, refined, and honed to express its highest purpose.

Recently I was interviewed about coaching on a radio show:
HOST: Danielle, let’s assume that life on planet Earth is a game. If this is so, there must be some rules and tools. What are the rules and tools that you would use for this game?
ME: The first rule is the requirement for us to be self-aware. Then tools for gaining insights and developing strategies can be applied to help us to stay both hardy and flexible when dealing with the events in life so that we are always resilient.
Without self-awareness, without a conscious approach to life, it is like driving through a city using the wrong map. If you apply the wrong map, no matter how good you are at reading it or how skilled you are at driving, you will not get to where you want to go. To coach yourself to wellness and to maintain balance in your life, you must have self-awareness and be able to answer the questions: “Who am I?” and “Where do I want to go?”
You have to understand yourself, your strengths and your weaknesses, in order to master the game of life and to create the best outcome in any given situation or context.
Question: What are some rules and tools that have helped you navigate your journey through life?

What got you started in the natural healing arts? We all have some kind of story that triggers this interest and takes us off the mainstream methods for healthy lifestyles. What is your story? We would love to hear from you.

Stay awake, aware, and alert and strive to lead a well-tempered life – a life that possesses both hardiness and flexibility. The good news is that once you are awake, you can never go to sleep again, but if you do, do it on purpose and prepare yourself for the consequences.
