Thinking about your business: Part 1

Taking A Step – THINKING ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS

The first step toward improving your professional results is asking yourself some questions about your business. Please answer questions 1 to 4.  Don’t panic if you don’t know all the answers right now. You’re just getting started. However, these questions do provide a great framework for beginning to think realistically about You as an Independent Business Person in the Natural Healing Arts Field.

We will start the process right now but you will most likely have to complete your thinking over time.

Perhaps you will want to stay in touch with other professionals and do some brainstorming, get some feedback, or ask questions to stimulate your thinking.  But let’s start the process right now.

  1. How would you describe the type of industry you are in?
  2. How would you describe the purpose of your business in this industry?
  3. What is your product or service, who does it serve and what customers’ needs are you filling?
  4. In a few words, write down what makes your business unique.
  5. Now, articulate how you would describe what your business does, who it serves, and how it goes about doing this.

Make another attempt at writing your statement but make it even shorter.

Stay awake, aware, and alert and strive to lead a well-tempered life – a life that possesses both hardiness and flexibility.  The good news is that once you are awake, it’s hard to go to sleep again, but if you do, do it on purpose and prepare yourself for the consequences.
