Awareness – Part 2

Like the element of AIR, it is all seeing and everywhere, yet it is unseen. When ideas come pouring forth, they inspire us, make us excited, and propel us into having further thoughts.

There are two types and functions for the social awareness. There is the social-mental and the social-physical. Both address the personal parts of our nature and strive to connect ideas to things and people.

The social-mental awareness functions as the Realist and in an outward and upward direction, connecting actions to the ideas of the mental awareness.

The social-physical awareness functions as the Catalyst in us, and in an outward and downward direction connects reactions and feelings to the ideas of the Dreamer and the actions of the Realist to the physical awareness.

In this way, both social awareness’s act in a co-functional manner, and both together become the interface between the ideas of the mental function and the manifestation of the ideas in the physical world.

The social-mental awareness sees the ideas of the Dreamer and feels the tension to move ideas into actions. This tension creates a motivation for action. When the drive to achieve interacts with the events in its current reality, it confronts and deals with obstacles as if they were annoyances to be eliminated. In striving to connect actions to ideas, the Realist often stirs and unsettles us; we feel alert and attentive.

We think of the social-mental process of connecting ideas to actions as the element of FIRE because the actions heat things up, causing friction within as well as with others as it heightens our focus and illuminates the creative processes for others to consider.

The social-physical awareness connects the ideas of the Dreamer and the actions of the Realist to personal reactions and feelings of doubt and concern. These feelings force the need for clarification and assistance in shaping and reshaping the whole process toward its conclusion or outcome. This function is called the Catalyst because it brings thoughts and feelings to the surface so that they can be dealt with.

We think of the social-physical process of connecting both ideas and actions with people and things as the element of WATER. Ideas and actions now start to take shape as other people and things are drawn into the process.

Stay awake, aware, and alert and strive to lead a well-tempered life – a life that possesses both hardiness and flexibility.  The good news is that once you are awake, it’s hard to go to sleep again, but if you do, do it on purpose and prepare yourself for the consequences.
