Danielle Gault, Author, Seminar Leader, Coach, Consultant – Interview part 1

Recently I was interviewed about coaching on a radio show:

HOST: Danielle, let’s assume that life on planet Earth is a game. If this is so, there must be some rules and tools. What are the rules and tools that you would use for this game?

ME: The first rule is the requirement for us to be self-aware. Then tools for gaining insights and developing strategies can be applied to help us to stay both hardy and flexible when dealing with the events in life so that we are always resilient.

Without self-awareness, without a conscious approach to life, it is like driving through a city using the wrong map. If you apply the wrong map, no matter how good you are at reading it or how skilled you are at driving, you will not get to where you want to go. To coach yourself to wellness and to maintain balance in your life, you must have self-awareness and be able to answer the questions: “Who am I?” and “Where do I want to go?”

You have to understand yourself, your strengths and your weaknesses, in order to master the game of life and to create the best outcome in any given situation or context.

This chapter is designed to assist you in understanding and interpreting your world. You will learn guidelines and a set of tools to enhance your insights, skills, and techniques as you navigate your journey in life and strive to coach yourself always toward balance—no matter what your age, stage, or situation. We are all navigating, negotiating, and striving to stay healthy, well, and balanced; having a few guidelines and tools at our fingertips can assist us. Throughout the book I will link the personality elements to coaching tips and the healing techniques of yoga and reflexology.

Identifying and working with your personality preference can aid you in maximizing your strengths and avoiding your pitfalls. Elemental personality theory works with four types of awareness. These awareness’s could be called the mental awareness, the social-mental awareness, the social-physical awareness, and the physical awareness. Each of these awarenesses helps to guide us through life by taking on a specific responsibility.

Stay awake, aware, and alert and strive to lead a well-tempered life – a life that possesses both hardiness and flexibility.  The good news is that once you are awake, it’s hard to go to sleep again, but if you do, do it on purpose and prepare yourself for the consequences.
